S. Christina Boyd

Christina loves Flagstaff and has been very active in the community. In its formative nine years, she was co-producer of the Flagstaff Folk Festival, developing it into a major regional event; in 2005 she created the Young Jammers program, a free music program for children now directed by two sisters -- former Young Jammers; and she was a Big Sister for 10 years with a Native American girl with whom she is still in contact. Her hobby is music. She has dabbled in a few instruments including the upright bass, the accordion, and the clawhammer banjo, and she sings. She and her husband had a little band for years that played around Flagstaff. You can still find her at the weekly jams of Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music. Come on by!

Christina is a licensed Educational Kinesiologist and Brain Gym® Consultant, and a Master Practitioner of NeuroLinguistic Programming/NLP. She has been a movement-based somatic therapist in Flagstaff for the last 33 years. Her specialty is assisting adults in releasing complex, ingrained patterns of stress from Adverse Childhood Experiences. ACEs are known to underlie many emotional and physical problems. She also works with children to manage behavioral issues and address academic challenges. Ten years ago, she developed her Stand Tall – Don’t Fall class which is now both online and in-person. Since adding a variation of this class to the virtual offerings of the Brain Injury Association of Arizona, it has become one of their most popular programs.

Christina’s extensive experience as a therapist, presenter, and workshop facilitator is grounded in her years of NLP training and continuous training in integrative movement. She incorporates into her practice the concepts, framework, and language patterns of NLP and the designed movements of Brain Gym®, developmental movements, Touch for Health, the Three Dimensions of Movement and Learning (Dennison and Dennison), Brain Organization Profiles, and Vision Gyms®.
